The artistry and craftsmanship of Plantation Painters Inc can be seen throughout the greater Charleston area and neighboring states. From the smallest task of lime washing the mortar of exposed brick to the expansive paint restoration of the Dock Street Theatre, our goal is to provide our clients with a full range of painting, decorative and consulting services, including: Interior/Exterior Finishes, Decorative Finishes, American Clay, Commercial and Residential Renovations and New Construction. Plantation Painters, Inc has an extensive resume after more than twenty years of work in the Historic District of Charleston and beyond. The company began working in the Lowcountry in 1988 after the founders, Rik and Martha Snyder moved to Summerville. The couple had spent their twenties and thirties preserving small town Victorian homes, which cultivated a level of craftsmanship that easily lent itself to the revitalization that Charleston experienced following Hurricane Hugo. In 1990 the company expanded its talent base by offering decorative and faux painting. The owners received extensive instruction in the art of wood graining, gilding, and a wide array of faux finishes at the Day School of Decorative Finishes in San Francisco. The company has since participated in the renovation of numerous sacred spaces, national historic landmark buildings, museum homes, historic city buildings, theatres and notable historic private properties throughout the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
